Choosing a domain name

The main problem in starting a new proxy comes in choosing the domain name, most of the good domain names are taken and it takes real imagination on searching for a good one that’s still available. For example, the domain “privatetunnel.com” was taken when I searched for it, but it had expired and godaddy was holding it for a month. So after waiting a month(during which time I started a few more proxies) I finally got the domain, along with a couple(not related to proxies) more. Similarly I was lucky to get my hands on the domain JesushideUs.com.

Choosing a webhost

The third hurdle for new proxy owners comes in the form of the wide myriad of webhosts, most of which, I’m sorry to say, are fly-by-night hosts which are there in the night but you find that your proxy is down by the morning since the webhost closed down. So here we’re gonna help you finding a good webhost which will host your website for a long time, assuming you pay all the invoices on time

Setting up your new webproxy

Now, the last things you gotta do before you start advertising your proxy and start earning from it.
1. Point the nameservers of your domain towards the hosting you’ve bought, you get them when you register for the hosting, and also when you receive the confirmation email with your login info for the hosting account. It can take around 24-48 hours to do that so have patience.

The part which most of the people dread is advertising their proxies, so much competition to face and it’s pretty boring, to be frank. I suggest you first do promotion using newsletters and groups etc. since they allow your proxy to remain unblocked for a long time. There are 3 types of advertisements possible-
* CPM (Cost Per Mille/Cost per 1000 impressions)
* CPC (Cost Per Click)
* CPA (Cost Per Action)
* Link Selling
Two places where you place your ads are-

*Proxified pages

The best recommended CPC advertiser is Google Adsense, just remember to block a few countries like Brazil, Russia, China(most importantly) and Iran.

   • Installing SSL

     Installing SSL is not as easy as uploading a website, typing a couple of commands in ssh and you’re done, you might even need a couple of phone calls to their support in order to install it. However, you can get step by step instructions from here if you’re using Jumpline.
